Tribute to Louis Armstrong

From “Hello Dolly” and “What A Wonderful World”, to Armstrong’s earliest classics like “West End Blues”, “Stardust” and “Potato Head Blues”, Marcus Belgrave is undoubtedly one of the few performers in the world with the three essential qualities needed to deliver a loving and convincing tribute to “Satchmo”. He is an astonishing jazz trumpet virtuoso with a natural low, gravelly voice, and a warm stage persona with “down home” humor.

Marcus has been an internationally recognized jazz trumpet great for forty years.  Bursting into prominence as a teenaged sensation in The Ray Charles Orchestra. Marcus also delivered the soulful horn that helped to define the legendary “Motown Sound”.  Chosen by Wyton Marsalis for the original Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, he continues to tour and record around the world while appearing on television.

“Belgrave was as entertaining a showman as Armstrong himself ... darned if he sound just like Satchmo”
The Grand Rapids Press

“Marcus Belgrave brings Satchmo to life ... he’s considered among the finest jazz musicians in the world”
The Traverse City Eagle-Record

“Joyously putting his own spin on Pop’s greatest hits ... referencing classic original trumpet solos with enough sincerity and surprising turns that the music comes off fresh”
The Detroit Free Press
